How/when did you get involved in CrossFit?
I started CrossFit about 2 years ago after coming back from my first year of college. I’ve always been intimidated by it, but finally after years of persuasion by my dad, I decided to give it a shot.
Do you remember your first workout? How was it?
I’ve been hooked ever since! I don’t remember my first workout, but I do remember that it was good enough that made me want to come back!
Favorite lift and WOD?
My favorite lifts are Olympic lifts and my favorite WOD is either Cindy or Fran (really just anything with pull-ups).
What about your least favorite?
I love and appreciate every movement in CrossFit regardless of whether I’m efficient at it because I like being challenged by them! It really pushes me to find ways to improve and work harder!
What are your fitness/health goals?
My fitness/health goal at the moment is really to stay active and build strength. I really love the feeling of being strong and knowing that I’m capable of doing anything.
Is there a specific diet or nutritional habit that helps you with your goals?
I don’t have a specific diet that I follow. For the most part, I like to workout so that I can eat whatever I want!
What motivates you?
My favorite thing about CrossFit is that every day is always different, exposing me to be challenged by different movements. Because of this, I’m always finding ways to improve—this is what motivates me. I’m constantly striving to face the physical and mental challenges CrossFit has to offer.
Do you have any advice for new members?
My only advice to new members is to STICK WITH IT! CrossFit may seem difficult and intimidating at first, but as long as you’re consistent, it’ll get better. Before you know it you’ll be doing things you thought were impossible!!
What do you hope to achieve in the coming year?
For this coming year, I just want to focus more on my weaknesses and being a better athlete and coach. I’m always trying to improve! I also want to discover that “pain cave” Cole’s always talking about.
What was your favorite WOD of the Open? Least favorite?
My favorite Open WOD was 19.2 because I really liked the movements (cleans, T2B, double unders). My least favorite was probably 19.1. I’m still trying to work on endurance and pacing.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I just want to say that I 10/10 recommend trying CrossFit! It’s so much fun and the atmosphere is amazing! Everyone is always motivating and pushing each other to be the best they can be. I can’t thank everyone at Primary CrossFit enough!
