Our facility, in Up-Town Chicago, is state of the art with a separate Yoga area and beautiful clean locker rooms. CrossFit is a combination of training principles including cardiovascular, strength, agility, balance, flexibility, coordination and more. We offer small group classes, including CrossFit, Kids CrossFit, Yoga, Row-Flow, Rowing, and Private training, led by a certified trainer who will motivate you to perform at your best, regardless of your current fitness level. From 8-80 years old, beginner to super athlete alike!

“I knew I needed to make a change and had been looking to get into CrossFit because I was hardly working out at all by going to a normal gym. Saw that Primary opened just a few blocks away and it was a no brainer that I join. Seeing results definitely keeps me going back; that’s always been where I stumble with other workout regimens. I usually don’t see results fast enough and I give up, but I have continuously seen changes since I started at Primary. I’ve noticed changes in the way I feel, the way my clothes fits, the way I look, my weight, and also huge improvements in my performance during the WODs and my strength too. All that, along with meeting some seriously wonderful and friendly people has definitely motivated me to make it to class 4-5 times a week. Like I said above, quite a few things have changed since I joined Primary. My diet has begun to change and I’m excited to see what more changes will come when I start eating Paleo. I’ve lost close to 55 lbs, my clothes fit way better than they used to, and I’m down two notches on my belt! My long term goal is to Rx every WOD,- I know it’ll be awhile before I get there. For now, I’d like to get to the point where I am able to do some unassisted pullups and handstand push-ups, and I really wanna master the overhead squat.”

CrossFit has become part of my everyday routine. I joined Primary in June or July of 2016 and started with 3 classes per week but I quickly fell in love with it and couldn’t get enough. So I upgraded in September to an unlimited membership and started attending 5 classes per week. I felt stronger almost immediately and discovered a competitive drive I didn’t know I had. Each day I started pushing myself harder to lift more, finish faster, or complete another round. Since then I’ve started doing 4 classes a week with 1-2 open gym workouts mixed in. I have also learned how important nutrition is. I rarely eat anything with added sugar and eat primarily whole, organic foods. This helped me cut my body fat percent way down and has helped with mental clarity and focus too! I love CrossFit so much that I was inspired to go out and get my Level 1 Trainer Certificate and hope to start training part-time at some point. ????
The work isn’t finished my next goal is to increase my strength while maintaining the progress I’ve already made by adding more Olympic Weightlifting sessions to my program.
“As a collegiate softball player, team settings have always been more motivating for me. While working out at other gyms, I always stuck to the machines I knew; treadmill, stair master, elliptical (boring). It’s not about the weight loss or being fit for me, anymore. CrossFit has given me the team atmosphere I thrive in and now consistently pushes me to be a better athlete, even after all these years. I’ve stumbled upon a long-term health journey and I can’t wait to see where CrossFit takes me!

Our WOD’s are scalable, so everybody, regardless on your fitness level, can participate in the workout. We mix cardio, weight training, and bodyweight movements to help YOU get in the best shape of your life.
Our goal at Primary is to provide our members with a fun path to achieving their health and fitness goals. Getting fit and healthy shouldn’t be boring or monotonous. It should be fun, varied, and done with a community!
