I’m happily down 23 pounds as of this week, so an additional 3 since these photos – with a goal of about 7 more that I know I can do. 🙂 I was active my whole life, being involved in ballet and dance from preschool through college, and was always relatively thin and in shape. After college, I tore a tendon in my ankle that wouldn’t heal properly, and ended up having to stop anything that involved jumping or running. Needless to say, the combination of not being able to be as active as I wanted and a deep love of food made me slowly but surely gain weight in a way I had never seen. In October 2017 I finally had surgery to repair my ankle and finished months of physical therapy in May. After I was cleared for full activity, I stumbled upon the 6 week challenge at Primary CrossFit and Yoga, and signed up instantly. I knew I needed to make a drastic change with my diet and exercise plan and that was it. Although I didn’t reach my goal within those 6 weeks, I fell in love with the community and the strength I was gaining so I stuck around! I was at my heaviest when I signed up, and in the 10 weeks since joining I’ve lost over 20 pounds and two pant sizes, with a few more to go. Not only do I feel more like myself again, but I sleep better, have more energy, made great friends, and know I’m stronger with each workout.

I just recently finished the 6-week challenge and was very successful! I lost 19 lbs, lost just under 6% body fat, and lowered my blood pressure by 17 systolic and 16 diastolic (bringing me from hypertension-level BP to ideal BP) in 6 weeks. I created some healthy habits both in and outside of Primary Crossfit & Yoga to completely turned my life around. I have Ramon/Stephanie (owners) and others at Primary Crossfit & Yoga to thank! The classes here are great- both Crossfit and Yoga across the variety of coaches/instructors. It’s really easy to sign up for classes on their mobile app. I came in totally out of shape without having ever done Crossfit before- I was a little nervous, but this place is completely not intimidating for anyone regardless of age/gender/ethnicity/experience/injuries, and everyone is so nice. HIGHLY recommend to anyone and everyone!
The time I’ve spent at Primary Crossfit and Yoga has exceeded all my expectations. This past summer, I came across an advertisement for Primary’s 6-week challenge and I decided to schedule an appointment to learn more about it. As soon as I walked in the box, I was greeted by Ramon and he made me feel right at home. He explained how the program works and helped me set a weight loss goal that I could reach by the end of the 6 weeks. During the 6 weeks, I attended crossfit classes 3-5 times a week and ate wholesome foods that helped nourish my body. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I lost 23 lbs and gained a whole lot of strength and cofidence. Also, I am now part of a community of athletes that motivate each other in and out of the box. Primary Crossfit and Yoga is exactly what I needed to help me get me started on this new lifestyle. They gave me the tools, motivation, and accountability, that allowed me succeed and crush my goals!
As a collegiate softball player, team settings have always been more motivating for me. While working out at other gyms, I always stuck to the machines I knew; treadmill, stair master, elliptical (boring). It was so easy to lose sight of my goals from feeling bored and not seeing the results I wanted.
When I learned that Primary CrossFit & Yoga had opened so close to me, I knew I needed to try it. The change I saw in my body was almost instant and I’ve made incredible friends in my area that I love to see everyday at the box. It is so fun to share the success (or compete for it) with each and every one of them!
It’s not about the weight loss or being fit for me, anymore. CrossFit has given me the team atmosphere I thrive in and now consistently pushes me to be a better athlete, even after all these years. I’ve stumbled upon a long-term health journey and I can’t wait to see where CrossFit takes me!

I knew I needed to make a change and had been looking to get into CrossFit because I was hardly working out at all by going to a normal gym. Saw that Primary opened just a few blocks away and it was a no brainer that I join. Seeing results definitely keeps me going back; that’s always been where I stumble with other workout regimens. I usually don’t see results fast enough and I give up, but I have continuously seen changes since I started at Primary. I’ve noticed changes in the way I feel, the way my clothes fits, the way I look, my weight, and also huge improvements in my performance during the WODs and my strength too. All that, along with meeting some seriously wonderful and friendly people has definitely motivated me to make it to class 4-5 times a week. Like I said above, quite a few things have changed since I joined Primary. My diet has begun to change and I’m excited to see what more changes will come when I start eating Paleo. I’ve lost close to 55 lbs, my clothes fit way better than they used to, and I’m down two notches on my belt! My long term goal is to Rx every WOD,- I know it’ll be awhile before I get there. For now, I’d like to get to the point where I am able to do some unassisted pullups and handstand push-ups, and I really wanna master the overhead squat.”
I signed up for the 6 week challenge with very little expectations. I was turning 42 in a month, hadn’t worked out in years and my eating was out of control. I’ve really never enjoyed working out until coming to CrossFit. The variety of WODs keep it fun and the camaraderie is amazing. After only 6 weeks of Paleo eating and doing CrossFit 3 days a week I’ve already dropped 25 pounds and 7% body fat. Thanks Ramon and the rest of the team for helping keep me motivated. Best trainers ever! I’m smiling more today, feeling more confident than ever and in the best shape of my life.
